Spiritual Wickedness in High Places #1
Many people are getting confused and they are wondering about what has been happening in our world today. We were under the threat of Pandemic for the last few years and now we are facing issues that are totally against conventional wisdom. Sadly, many, including Christians, are unprepared and most are oblivious.
The Christians, with the Bible in their hands are searching; but are still left with so many unanswered questions, giving way to fears and doubts. There are many conspiracy theories out there to make the Bible appear useless and obsolete. This is an attempt to dismiss God as an irrelevant and useless Being. Man’s faith is not resting on God and His Word anymore, but on Science and reason.
As children of God, who strongly believe in the truth of God’s Word, we should not simply allow these “new age” forms of deception and confusion to exist without being challenged and confronted with the truth. If indeed we believe that we have the truth, it must behoove us to not remain quiet and allow these lies and misinformation to remain unchallenged. I ask that you join me in sharing this opportunity to prepare the people of God and strengthen the hope that is in us.
Transitional Statement:
This is the start of a series of devotionals to address issues relevant to and affecting so many people today. It is my intention at the end of this series to give a message next Sunday on the “Realities of Spiritual Darkness in high places.”
The main premise to establish and clarify our stand is found in the Word of God. There is no other document so trustworthy and considered as pure and credible, other than the Word of God. It is a book that endured opposition and passed so many generations, remained incredibly preserved, and with a profound sense of unity and presence.
The Apostle Paul, in his epistle to the Church at Ephesus, declares that co-existing with us in the physical realm where we exist; is the spiritual realm of existence. Paul is not giving his opinion nor he is suggesting possibilities. There is a “matter of fact” expression that is so undeniable we need to look at closer. Here are some truths Paul is presenting:
I. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood.” The Apostle Paul is declaring that we are facing a group or groups of enemies that are unlike us. They are not made of flesh and blood. They are hostile creatures who are unseen. They are enemies that cannot be defeated by any kind of physical power or natural strength.
These enemies are always attacking and constantly going against us. They wrestle and pervasively intimidate and trouble to weaken us until we become doubtful, discouraged, and eventually succumbed and quit.
They do not only attack physically, but also emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. They go against our total being: Spirit, Soul, and Body.
II. “…against principalities and powers…” Our enemies are organized into principalities. They have a domain, a government, and a ruling body. They have a plan, an agenda, and a strategy to go against the people of God. There are plenty of them and each principality has power and authority; but not from God. They get their authority from the “rulers of darkness.” These principalities are now in control (permitted by God), dictating and controlling every system we have in this world today; educational, political and religious, and financial systems.
III. “…rulers and darkness of this world” Our enemies are led by the rulers of darkness. “Darkness” here can refer to immorality and can also refer to “phantom leadership” perhaps through the AI, the image of the Beast. Their plans and agenda are so wicked and destructive. They are accountable to no one and have no fear of God. I am sure they know that they have been defeated at the cross and this is their last attempt to fight. They refuse to eternally suffer alone. They will try their best to get others to face the same eternal consequences in the lake of fire.
IV. “…against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Apostle Paul has identified them. They are the fallen angels who before were enjoying the glory and the bliss of heaven, but because of pride, they followed Lucifer. They are among the 1/3 angelic beings who fell. Until today many angelic beings are falling and being cast out. These fallen angels are changing the DNA structure of humans by cohabitating and having physical and sexual relationships with humans. This union has produced hybrid creatures resulting in giants and humanoids with supernatural power and strength.
They are now occupying many important positions in high places in the political, religious, and social arenas of this world. They appear like us. They talk and live like us. They can act as a good Samaritan, a generous philanthropist, a preacher, teacher, and an ordinary citizen. They are all here and have infiltrated every place in the society.
Conclusion:
Paul gives these warnings for God’s people to know the dangerous realities we are facing today. It is not his intention to scare us. This is to remind us that with all the powers the enemies possess and have, they cannot win against our Almighty God.
Let us be reminded of the spiritual armor God gave to every one of us. We should never take them off and lower our guards down. God’s armor will allow us to face all our enemies in the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions and assure us of wonderful and glorious victories!
