YOU CAN BE PURE

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psalm 119:9

Is there anyone who would want to relive their middle school or high school days? Consider the bids for power, the blows to self-esteem, the angst. Consider also the numerous temptations to compromise your principles, to follow the crowd.

It is difficult to be young, but young people can learn to value purity and thereby to live honorable lives. Though many will say that purity is an “old-fashioned” concept, remaining pure is possible.

God promises that we can stay pure by obeying his Word. As we read the Bible, God will speak to us. As we memorize Scripture, it will be available to us for whatever situation arises. When we are tempted—and we can expect to face temptation daily—we will have God’s words at our disposal, and the choice to obey will be much easier. 

GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:

• You can stay pure by obeying me.

• Memorizing Scripture will help you remain pure.

MY PRAYER TO GOD:

Lord, the world doesn’t value purity. The expectation is that no one can remain pure. I pray that you will help me continue to see the value of purity and desire it in all areas of life. Amen.
