GOD GIVES ETERNAL LIFE

John 3:36

It doesn’t get much clearer than this. God promises eternal life to those who believe; he promises his eternal wrath to those who live in unbelief. There are only two choices. We either believe Jesus is who he said he is or we don’t. We either choose to follow him or we don’t.

The choice is clear; the promise is clear. John repeated this same sentiment in another book: “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:12-13). John wrote these words so that we could know that we have eternal life—not hope that we have it, but know it.

Do you know that you have it? 

GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:

• Any person who believes in me will have eternal life.

• You can trust my promise to give you eternal life.

MY PRAYER TO GOD:

Lord, thank you for the promise of eternal life—a life that begins now. I look forward to being with you forever. Amen.
