BECOMING LIKE CHRIST IN INTEGRITY

Proverbs 10:9

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

People with integrity are trustworthy. They speak the truth and live the truth. Perhaps that is why Proverbs describes them as “walk[ing] securely.” They don’t worry about which person they told what story to in order to keep their lies straight. Instead, they always tell the truth.

Jesus called for people to trust him: “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness” (John 12:44-46). Why do we know we can trust Jesus? Because every word he said came true.

We can be people of integrity. We can pray to be known for integrity and to always walk securely in God’s truth.

GOD’S PROMISE TO ME:

• I will help you to have integrity.

• With integrity, you will walk securely all the days of your life.

MY PRAYER TO GOD:

Lord, I want to be a person of integrity, a person known for honesty and truthfulness. Sometimes it seems that integrity is in short supply in our world. I want to maintain integrity in my friendships, marriage, family, occupation—wherever you place me. Amen.
