The Unfeigned Faith

Jun 9, 2024

1 Timothy 1:5 - “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:”

The Lord’s genuine faith is untainted and free from hypocrisy. It is unwavering in its quest. Our inherent faith is not untainted. It is influenced by sin, and without the purity of Christ's faith, it continues to seek self-fulfillment. The only means to possess this faith is through Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

After accepting the faith of the Son of God, we possess it perpetually, aiding us in leading a life characterized by faithfulness and righteousness. This suggests that all genuine children of God can demonstrate Christ's righteousness and strength. Thanks to the potency of this faith, we have the right to assert Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Christ.”

Faith is not merely demonstrated through words alone. If our actions contradict our words, then the faith we proclaim is insincere. It does not reflect the faith of Jesus Christ. Instead, it reveals our natural faith. According to the Bible, we are instructed to bolster our faith by immersing ourselves in the teachings of God's Word. We must align our faith with the faith of Jesus until His influence becomes predominant in our lives.

The unwavering faith of Christ remains constant and unchanging. It eagerly awaits the moment when we willingly yield to the influence of the Holy Spirit, enabling us to submit our natural faith to the authority of Christ, allowing His strength and power to be revealed through us. We must persist in exercising our faith until it becomes fused with Christ, reflecting the new nature instilled by the Holy Spirit's transformative and purifying work.

Christ's sincere and untainted faith empowers us to conquer our daily challenges. It instills in us the courage and boldness to bear witness to the grace of God, equipping us to confront even the most intense spiritual trials. This faith provides us with unwavering confidence and assurance, eagerly anticipating the triumphant return of Christ.

As faithful Christians eagerly await His return, their attention is fixed on their duties. They are committed to completing their journey and maintaining their faith. This faith brings them peace during life's turbulent moments and solace during periods of hardship. Ultimately, it enables all followers to love with genuine intentions and aspirations.

Our Prayer for today:

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the gift of pure and powerful faith to help us overcome the difficulties we face. Forgive us that often, we still yield to our faith tainted by doubts. May our faith begin to submit to Your faith to allow us to enjoy Your presence and be faithful to our tasks. In Jesus' name. Amen!
