The Full Assurance of Faith

Jun 11, 2024

Hebrews 10:22 - “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

The “Full assurance of faith” is the ultimate result of the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ in a believer’s life. It is the most significant application of the gifts given by God as a result of His victory on the cross and the power of His resurrection. This faith provides the complete assurance to be confident and assured to live a life worthy of God’s pleasure.

Notice the expression "full assurance of faith.” It should excite us to know that because of the faith given to us by God, we can experience its full assurance. However, it is our responsibility to see the need and make the initial step of faith to claim its power and celebrate the victory.

This is not the full assurance to feel an emotionally driven experience nor the assurance resulting from a carefully crafted philosophical worldview. It is the full assurance brought about by the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ, driven by the Holy Spirit, that we can fully enjoy once we commit ourselves to God.

Our text encourages all believers to come boldly and draw near to the presence of God without the fear of rejection. This faith gives every child of God the boldness and the liberty to claim the benefits of the assurances promised in God’s Word. Look at the list of divine assurances we can claim:

•Assurance of salvation. 1 John 5:11-12.

•Assurance of answered prayer. John 16:24.

•Assurance of victory. 1 Corinthians 10:13.

•Assurance of forgiveness. 1 John 1:9.

•Assurance of guidance. Proverbs 3:5-6.

•And many more…

The life of victory is within our reach, made possible by the grace of God.

Our Prayer for today:

Heavenly Father, as I discover and contemplate the preciousness of Your gift of faith, the more I realize what I am missing for not claiming to enjoy its power. There is no reason for me to live a defeated life and allow myself to be affected by godless and ungodly influences around me. Thank you for providing us with the full arsenal to claim and use to enable us to fight the good fight of faith. In Jesus' name. Amen!
