Jesus Christ, From A Manger To The Throne

Feb 4, 2024

Micah 5:2 - “But thou, Beth–lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”

The prophet Micah delivered a powerful message that would later be quoted in Matthew 2:6 when the Magi were searching for the newborn king in Bethlehem. According to Micah's prophecy, the Prince of Peace, who would bring light to the world, would be born in this small village.

Micah's message focused on sin, repentance, and restoration, which would ultimately find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Jesus' work of redemption on the cross would set the stage for the ultimate fulfillment of Micah's prophecy, bringing hope and salvation to all who believe.

God provides us with warnings to prevent us from experiencing His wrath. These warnings are given to us due to His love for us. If we reject His provision for our sins through the sacrifice of His Son, we will surely face judgment. As His children, God will discipline us not out of hatred but because He knows that sin can destroy us. He desires for us to be complete and whole. This wholeness, the promise of restoration, is reserved for those who remain obedient to Him.

This prophecy also implies the physical presence and reign of Jesus Christ. According to this prophecy, when Jesus comes to establish His Millennial reign in Jerusalem, He will do so from the throne of David. This kingdom that will be ruled by Jesus Christ, who is known as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, will be a magnificent and glorious one.

This kingdom is more than just a symbol. It is a physical and tangible reality that fulfills God's promise to rule over the true nation of Israel, which is made up of His chosen people. The reign of Jesus Christ over this kingdom will be a testament to His power and glory, and it will serve as a reminder of God's love and mercy towards His people. Spiritual Israel - those whom God has saved and chosen before the foundation of the world.

In His coming reign, we shall witness several glorious events. The Lord will reveal His Bride, the glorious Church, who will reign with Him. Satan will be incarcerated for 1,000 years, having no chance to tempt people against the Lord. Righteousness will reign, and sin will have no power over people. This is a time of peace and prosperity, both physically and spiritually, because of the physical and glorious presence of the Lord Jesus Christ to be enjoyed worldwide. Let us praise God for this amazing time that is yet to come.

Our Prayer for today:

Dear Heavenly Father, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who will fulfill His promise to reign as our King of Righteousness and overcome the power of sin. May we find hope and inspiration in this promise and strive to live our lives in accordance with Your divine will. You for counting us worthy because of Jesus to allow us to have a taste of heaven on earth. May we continue to be faithful and abiding until Your return. In Jesus' name. Amen!
