“Unto Him be glory in the Church”

Mar 11, 2024

Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

[21] Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”

The book of Ephesians stands out as an exceptional piece of literature within the Bible, providing a profound explanation of God's eternal purpose. It can be regarded as a comprehensive overview of God’s timeless plan for the local Church, emphasizing its significance as the pillar and ground of truth.

The Apostle Paul's letter does not address specific errors or heresies. Instead, he intends to broaden the understanding of his audience, helping them comprehend the vast dimensions of God’s eternal purpose and grace. His aim is for them to gain a deeper appreciation for the lofty objectives that God has set for His church.

The passage reads like a comprehensive collection of the critical themes emphasized by Paul in his other writings. It underscores the significance of the local Church as the sole divine instrument of God to advance and demonstrate the glory and influence of Christ.

This Epistle emphasizes the significance of the Church as the embodiment of Christ's body and the primary channel through which God's glory is revealed and magnified. It highlights that within the Church, God bestows invaluable blessings to showcase His magnificence.

Furthermore, it underscores that God has chosen the Church as the means through which He manifests Himself and that true glorification and pleasing of Him can only be achieved within the Church. The text also stresses the revelation of the body of Christ through the unity and obedience of God's people in fulfilling His eternal purpose.

To be part of the empowered assembly that manifests the incredible presence and power of God, Christians should seek to be identified with Jesus Christ through Scriptural Baptism, as it is the way to be part of the Body of Christ.

Our Prayer for today!

We are grateful to you, Heavenly Father, for saving and calling us into service through the empowered Church. It is through this agency that we can manifest your presence and power. May all your children comprehend the privilege and opportunity of fulfilling your works in our lives? Amen!
