The Ministry

Dec 13, 2023

2 Corinthians 4:1 - “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;”

There are many challenges in the ministry. It is because, in the service of God, we will always encounter the enemy's attacks. He and his evil followers are bent on preventing us from doing God's will and winning others to Christ. We must be prepared for battle.

The ministry is a supernatural task. It is too overwhelming for anyone serving the Lord who only depends on his human abilities and wisdom. No one can fulfill the God-given and mandated responsibilities without the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The ministry is overwhelming when we use our human power and wisdom instead of subjecting ourselves to the power and will of God, who sometimes allows the ministry to be overwhelming to help us develop more spiritual muscles and strength to prepare us to face greater challenges ahead.

It shows that the Lord wants us to know more about our strengths and weaknesses. The process is difficult but necessary. We must not go against the process. Yield on Him completely.

We make God’s work difficult for us when we focus more on difficulties instead of opportunities. Maybe our eyes are more focused on the enemy than the Lord, which the enemy loves. Remember, the enemy desires to make us weak and discouraged.

Galatians 6:9-10 - “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

[10] As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

Many have quit for being weary, not realizing they left doing what is right and godly things. Too often, they become involved later in things that are against the will of God. Their lives become more miserable and unfulfilled.

The ministry is a wonderful opportunity to be a blessing not only to the people around us but to our God, who has called us to serve.

There is an excellent strategy Paul shares here - to do good by encouraging those who are like us in the household of faith. When they are strengthened, we win a companion, a helper, or a prayer partner to help us press on in the work of the Lord. We are not alone anymore. If you are in the ministry, cherish the opportunity. Remain faithful.

Our Prayer for today!

Lord, sometimes we consider the ministry a burden instead of a blessing. We tend to focus on the difficulty rather than the opportunity. Forgive us, for we often forget that you have given us the power and sound mind because you love us. May we not forget your promises we will enjoy for all eternity. In Jesus Name, Amen!
