Who Are the God’s Chosen People He Promised to Protect

Dec 6, 2023

Genesis 12:2-3 - “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

As Christians, we believe in God’s promise that He will bless those who support and bless the descendants of Abraham. This will determine the sheep nation from the goat nation during the judgment of the Nations.

The question that remains is, who are the descendants of Abraham? Ishmael, the ancestor of the Arabs, was the first, and next came Isaac. From Isaac, we have Easu, the ancestor of the Edomites, and Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel.

From the pattern shown in the Scriptures, not all Abraham’s descendants were given the privilege of blessedness since the Arabs and the Edomites fought and attacked the people of God, the Jews. Do we also consider all the Jews as the chosen people of God, whom God has promised to be blessed?

If Ismael and Esau were out of God’s favored people, then not all Jewish people are considered God’s chosen people. Those who refuse the Lord Jesus Christ as the Messiah cannot be regarded as God’s chosen people.

Galatians 3:7-9 - “Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. [8] And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. [9] So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.”

In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul indicated that the people of God are all the Children of Abraham by faith. It does not matter if you are an Arab, Edomite, Gentile, or Jew. If you have placed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you belong to that blessed nation. True Christians have the same status as the Jews who are Christians.

The Jews who are not saved are, therefore, outside of the Commonwealth of the faithful Israel. How about the nation of Israel? God’s protection does not rest on the Jews who mock and deny Jesus. The country is protected because the city of Jerusalem is His city. God protects the land of Israel and not the unbelieving people of Israel. He protects it to protect the city of Jerusalem, where Jesus would reign, seated on the throne of David.

The nation of Israel is a mixture of all races in this world. Most are Jews because they have embraced the Jewish faith but have rejected Jesus. They are not the true descendants of Abraham. But God will use them to preserve Jerusalem, the city of Peace, where Jesus will sit as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

After rewarding the faithful in the Judgment Seat of Christ, the Body of Christ, the glory of the Church will rise. Those who are saved, scripturally baptized, in the empowered Church, and those found faithful will comprise the glory Church, the body of Christ that will reign with Him for a thousand years.

Our Prayers today:

Lord, thank you for considering us among the people you have chosen and used. Thank you for the promise that you will bless those who will bless us.

We pray that we will not forfeit the opportunity of being a part of your Bride to reign with you in the Kingdom. Help us not to become a castaway. In Jesus Name. Amen!

1 Corinthians 9:27 - “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
