Happy Birthday to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

2 Corinthians 9:15 - “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.”

Christmas is a time that evokes a myriad of emotions, such as nostalgia, excitement, joy, and even sadness. Unlike other celebrations, it has a unique aura that captivates people of all ages. From the twinkling lights that adorn every street corner to the aroma of freshly baked cookies that fill the air, everything about Christmas is enchanting. It's a time of giving, receiving, and spending quality time with loved ones. Yet, it's also a reminder of those who are no longer with us and the memories that we hold dear to our hearts. All in all, Christmas is a beautiful blend of emotions, traditions, and festivities that make it one of the most beloved holidays worldwide.

Christmas has a unique charm everyone loves, but it's more special for children. My fondest memories of Christmas are from my childhood in the Philippines. The joyous season would kickstart in September with carolers singing in the streets. The traditional “simbang gabi” would follow, where people would wake up early to buy “puto bumbong” and “bibingka” before and after church. It's amazing how these little moments create memories we cherish forever.

Our Church's choir spreads joy and cheer during the Christmas season by singing carols to the families in their homes. With a convoy of cars and jeeps, we sing Christmas carols that bring smiles and gladness to their hearts. In response to our heartfelt performances, the families generously donate Christmas gifts and prepare a delicious meal to share. Let us do the same this year and continue to give and share!

The true essence of Christmas is centered on the act of giving. It all began when God sent His only Son to save us from our sins. The story of Christmas revolves around the birth of Jesus, which symbolizes God's selfless act of giving us His Son. Moreover, it also stands for Jesus giving up His life for us to receive eternal life. Hence, the tradition of gift-giving during Christmas serves as a way to commemorate the spirit of giving that was born on that day.

What better way to celebrate the birthday of our divine celebrant, Jesus Christ, than by giving everyone the gift of JESUS? He is the reason for the season, and He wants our commitment and faithfulness in reaching out to others with His life and teachings. He owns everything in this world, and He wants us to share His love with those around us.

Our Prayer for today;

Dear Lord, we express our gratitude for the gift of Yourself, which you have lovingly bestowed upon us. Through your divine incarnation as a man, you have shown us that we are accepted and cherished. Despite our rejection of you, you persisted in your love for us, offering yourself as a sacrifice to fulfill the demands of our just God.

Your benevolence toward us is boundless, and we are grateful for the comfort and protection that you provide as we navigate the challenges of life. As we celebrate the anniversary of your birth, we offer our praise and appreciation to You. May we remain committed to keeping you at the center of our lives. We surrender ourselves entirely to You. In Jesus Name. Amen!

Merry Christmas to all!
