Wanted Christian Youths

Jun 4, 2023

Today’s young people are seemingly the ones in charge and in control of the ever changing trend in moral standards and regressive lifestyles. There were plenty of provisions, regulations, policies, and laws that have already been ammended and at this very moment, more are being changed to accommodate their liberal agenda, ungodly desires, and selfish pursuits.

It is frustrating that those in power are acting like mindless and spineless individuals, only giving way to the human capriciousness and perversion. It is an attempt to dismiss God out existence and destroy the future generation.

Gone are the fear of God, moral absolutes, and respect for elders. Humanism, situational ethics, individual freedom, and immoral values are increasingly and systematically replacing moral integrity, social decency, and Biblical morality.

I feel that the only way we can oppose these pervasively wild and sinful influence is to strongly encourage our Christian youths to be different and be bold in their stand for the faith. It is because today’s youths listen more to their peers than the adults. The modern youths dislike authority and parental control. Have you ever heard the cliche they always use as an excuse?

“No one understands us today. Our parents standard is ancient, we can never relate with their old ways.”

Lesson/Application:

Apostle Paul was aware of their youthful tendencies. He was also aware of their potentials, untapped energy, innate strength, and their being risk-takers. He knew the power of youthfulness, especially when it is used in the right way, under the control of the Holy Spirit.

Our Christian youths must be prudent to take Paul’s advice to Timothy seriously in order to be the light and a testimony in today’s dark world. These are Paul’s advice to Timothy:

1.Stop living a despicable life.

•Be different from the world. Never give opportunity for anyone to despice and mock God because of your life.

•Always have the fear of God rather than fear of man. Obey God rather than men. At the end of the day, God will be our judge.

2.Be an example of Christ-likeness.

•This is not to show your personal best but to show Christ in your life

•Be a model to other believers and show them how to live right. Believers already have the ability through the power of the Holy Spirit but need encouragement.

•Unbelievers do not have that ability. They need to be saved!

•The unsaved world needs to see “faith in action” from those who claimed to be saved.

3.Be a bold and an effective model of righteous and godly living and behavior.

•Model In Words or all forms of communication, including music.

•Model In Conversation or manner of living. Have a godly lifestyle

•Model In charity by helping those in need

•Model In spirit. Do everything with passion, godly sincerity and right motivation

•Model In faith - what you claim to believe must be seen in action

•Model In purity - remain pure by being strong in the Lord to overcome the evil trends of immorality

4.Read the Bible to remain strong in living and in serving God and man.

•Be saturated by God’s Word and stay true to what it teaches and exhorts

•Be found faithful until Christ comes

Conclusion:

God wants to use our Christian youths, especially today. If you are a Christian and a youth, why don’t you surrender your life to God? The Lord needs you as a testimony to all young people. Other Christian youths need your guidance and encouragement. They need to realize that they are not alone in this moral and spiritual warfare. Together you can claim the victory that Christ already secured for all of us. You are God’s witnesses to see the salvation of the lost and for them to join the faithful army of resistance against all evils in this world. Amen!
